QUALITY AT A LOWER PRICE
Now working in the kitchen is even more fun! You can choose between a wide range of different knife shapes to suit your cutting tasks. Most of the types from the ProDynamic series are available with different handle colours and ensure compliance with HACCP guidelines.

STEEL QUALITY
The steel X55CrMo14 is the heart of the series. The laser-tested cutting edge guarantees a sharp edge and thus a consistently good cutting performance. This means you cut cleanly and don't crush your food. This preserves valuable ingredients and flavours of your food.

ERGONOMIC HANDLE
The full plastic handle is optimally adapted to your hand. The softer plastic handle gives you a comfortable feeling when cutting and the handle feels light and secure in your hand. The thumb rest optimises the grip when reaching over to weigh and chop. Your knife fits comfortably in your hand so you can work efficiently and accurately.

QUALITY
Each knife is inspected at the end of the production process against F. DICK's high quality standards. The blade spine is rounded, preventing cuts when you need to reach over. The knife falls from the back position and therefore increases work safety in accordance with the standards of the employers' liability insurance association.

KNIFE CARE
All F. DICK knives deserve special care and attention when it comes to maintenance. Proper knife care is crucial. Knives that are forged or have a wooden handle should never be cleaned in the dishwasher. Knives with plastic handles are completely dishwasher safe; however cleaning in a dishwasher is much more aggressive than washing by hand.

The use of highly concentrated detergents, leaving the knives in hot steam for a long time and also the presence of certain food residues can lead to pitting on the blades or even corrosion. We recommend clean the knife by hand with a soft cloth and a mild alkaline detergent. Wipe your knife after cleaning to ensure that tit is thoroughly dry – this will prevent any pitting on the blade. You can occasionally maintain knives with wooden handles with food-safe oils (e.g. olive oil). The oil makes the handle nice and smooth and prevents shrinkage and cracks.

PROFESSIONAL KNIFE STORAGE
For your safety and to protect the cutting edges of the blades, we recommend that you store the knives in a suitable knife block or on a magnetic rail. When buying a knife block, make sure you buy one with enough space and horizontal slots to protect the knife blades. We recommend our own blade guard for storage in a drawer - Edge Guard. or alternatively, dimensionally accurate compartments built into the drawer.

BLADE GUARD FOR KNIVES
Blade guard – Edge Guard, the special blade guard for storage, especially in drawers. Click here to see the blade guard for blades up to 26 cm.

KNIFE BLOCK FOR KNIVES
Knife block: Knife block with tourne knife, paring knife, boning knife, carving knife, bread knife, chef's knife, meat fork, sharpening steel and kitchen shears.

HOW DO KNIVES STAY SHARP FOR A LONG TIME?
Knives stay sharp for a long time if they are only used for their intended purpose. The knives should only be used for cutting and not chopping.
Bones or the like should therefore only be cut with a cleaver.

WOODEN OR PLASTIC CUTTING BASES
Hard surfaces such as stone (e.g. marble) or glass should not be used as a base, as they quickly blunt the knives.

FAQ

FAQ

People Also Ask:

Q: What is the F. Dick ProDynamic Utility Knife Serrated Black 10" best for?

A: The F. Dick ProDynamic Utility Knife Serrated Black 10" is designed for slicing foods with firm exteriors and softer interiors while maintaining clean, controlled cuts. Its serrated edge grips the surface of food before cutting, making it particularly effective for bread, sandwiches, tomatoes, citrus fruits, and other ingredients that can be difficult to slice cleanly with a straight-edged knife. The 10-inch blade length also provides additional reach for larger products and high-volume preparation tasks. For professional kitchens, cafés, bakeries, catering operations, and foodservice environments, this knife serves as a versatile utility tool that complements chef knives and paring knives rather than replacing them. The serrated profile helps maintain cutting performance over extended use because the recessed cutting points experience less direct contact with cutting boards.

Q: Who should use the F. Dick ProDynamic Utility Knife Serrated Black 10"?

A: This knife is well suited for chefs, culinary students, sandwich makers, bakery staff, caterers, and serious home cooks who regularly slice bread, produce, and prepared foods. The ProDynamic series is positioned as a professional-grade workhorse line that delivers dependable performance with an accessible price point. It is commonly selected by operators who need reliable knives for daily production without moving into premium forged collections. Its combination of a lightweight handle, stainless steel blade, and serrated edge makes it particularly practical in busy environments where speed, consistency, and ease of maintenance are important.

Q: Can the F. Dick ProDynamic Utility Knife Serrated Black 10" handle bread and bakery products?

A: Yes. The serrated blade design makes it highly effective for slicing crusty bread, rolls, bagels, pastries, and similar bakery products. Rather than crushing delicate interiors, the serrations penetrate the crust first and then cut through the product with less pressure. This helps preserve presentation quality and reduce waste during service. For bakeries, cafés, hotels, and foodservice operations preparing sandwiches or breakfast items, the knife can become a frequently used tool throughout the day.

Q: Is the F. Dick ProDynamic Utility Knife Serrated Black 10" suitable for tomatoes and soft-skinned produce?

A: Yes. The serrated edge is particularly useful for tomatoes, citrus fruits, peppers, and other produce with slippery or delicate skins. The teeth of the blade create immediate bite on the surface, reducing the need for excessive force. This improves control and helps produce cleaner, more consistent slices. Operators preparing salads, garnishes, sandwiches, and plated dishes often appreciate the efficiency this provides during repetitive prep work.

Q: Is the F. Dick ProDynamic Utility Knife Serrated Black 10" suitable for beginners or professionals?

A: The knife is suitable for both beginners and professionals. New users benefit from the forgiving nature of a serrated edge, which often initiates cuts more easily than a straight edge. Professional users benefit from the knife's speed, durability, and practical design in commercial environments. The ProDynamic series is widely recognized as a professional entry-level line that emphasizes functionality, ergonomics, and value.

Q: How durable is the F. Dick ProDynamic Utility Knife Serrated Black 10"?

A: The knife is built for repeated daily use in professional food preparation environments. It features an X55CrMo14 stainless steel blade and a laser-tested cutting edge designed to deliver consistent cutting performance. Combined with the ProDynamic series' practical construction, the knife is intended to withstand the demands of commercial kitchens, catering operations, and institutional foodservice settings where tools are used continuously throughout the day.

Q: What results should users expect from the F. Dick ProDynamic Utility Knife Serrated Black 10"?

A: Users should expect clean slicing performance, reliable edge retention, and efficient handling of foods that benefit from a serrated blade. The knife is designed to reduce tearing and crushing when cutting bread, produce, sandwiches, and prepared foods. Its longer blade also supports smooth slicing motions that help maintain product appearance. For foodservice operators, this can contribute to improved consistency across portions and presentations.

Q: Does the serrated edge stay sharp longer than a straight edge?

A: In many applications, yes. Because the cutting points of a serrated blade experience less direct board contact, they often maintain effective cutting performance longer than comparable straight-edged knives used for the same tasks. This makes serrated utility knives particularly attractive for operations seeking dependable performance with reduced sharpening frequency.

Q: Is the F. Dick ProDynamic Utility Knife Serrated Black 10" comfortable for extended prep sessions?

A: Yes. The ProDynamic series is designed with ergonomics and practical handling in mind. The lightweight construction helps reduce fatigue during repetitive cutting tasks, while the handle is shaped to provide a secure grip during extended use. This can be especially valuable in high-volume sandwich preparation, bakery production, and catering environments. Comfort becomes increasingly important when a knife is used throughout multiple service periods.

Q: Is the F. Dick ProDynamic Utility Knife Serrated Black 10" easy to maintain?

A: Yes. The stainless steel blade construction supports straightforward cleaning and routine maintenance. Because the knife uses a serrated edge, it generally requires sharpening less frequently than many straight-edged utility knives used in similar applications. Following standard professional knife care practices will help maximize blade life and long-term performance.

Q: Is a 10-inch utility knife too large for everyday kitchen use?

A: Not necessarily. The longer blade provides additional reach and efficiency when slicing larger products, loaves, sandwiches, and bulk-preparation items. Many foodservice professionals prefer longer blades because they allow smoother slicing motions with fewer strokes. For users who regularly prepare larger quantities of food, the 10-inch length can improve productivity and consistency.

Q: Does the F. Dick ProDynamic Utility Knife Serrated Black 10" work well with commercial cutting boards?

A: Yes. The knife is designed for professional food preparation environments and works effectively with commercial cutting board systems. Using quality cutting boards helps protect the blade, support food safety practices, and extend the overall service life of the knife. This makes it suitable for restaurants, hotels, institutions, bakeries, and catering operations.

Q: What knife types complement the F. Dick ProDynamic Utility Knife Serrated Black 10"?

A: This knife works best as part of a complete preparation toolkit. Many operators pair it with a chef knife for general prep, a paring knife for detail work, and a boning or carving knife for protein fabrication. The serrated utility knife then fills the specific role of slicing bread, produce, and prepared foods. This division of tasks helps improve efficiency and maintain blade performance across the entire knife set.

Q: What is included with the F. Dick ProDynamic Utility Knife Serrated Black 10"?

A: The product includes the F. Dick ProDynamic Utility Knife with a 10-inch serrated stainless steel blade and black ergonomic handle. The knife is supplied as an individual tool rather than as part of a knife block or knife set. This allows operators to build collections based on their specific workflow requirements. It is particularly useful for replacing frequently used slicing knives within existing knife programs.

Q: Where does the F. Dick ProDynamic Utility Knife fit within the ProDynamic series?

A: The knife belongs to the ProDynamic collection, which is designed to provide dependable professional performance at an accessible price point. Within the series, it serves as a specialized slicing knife for foods that benefit from a serrated edge. While chef knives and paring knives address general cutting tasks, this utility knife focuses on efficient slicing and presentation-sensitive applications. The result is a practical, purpose-built tool for everyday foodservice operations.

Q: How does the F. Dick ProDynamic Utility Knife Serrated Black 10" compare to a straight-edge utility knife?

A: The primary difference is how the blade engages the food surface. A straight-edge utility knife excels at precise, smooth cuts on many ingredients, while a serrated utility knife performs better on foods with firm skins, crusts, or delicate interiors. The serrated profile provides additional grip and often requires less downward pressure. For bread, tomatoes, sandwiches, and bakery products, many operators prefer the serrated option.

Q: How does the F. Dick ProDynamic Utility Knife compare to premium F. Dick knife series?

A: The ProDynamic series focuses on practical professional performance and value. Premium series such as 1905, 1778, Vivum, and Premier Plus typically incorporate more advanced construction methods, premium materials, or elevated design elements. The ProDynamic range prioritizes dependable daily utility while maintaining the core professional standards associated with F. Dick. For many kitchens, ProDynamic offers an efficient balance between performance, durability, and budget.

Q: Is the F. Dick ProDynamic Utility Knife Serrated Black 10" reliable in high-volume foodservice environments?

A: Yes. The knife is designed for repetitive daily use and performs particularly well in production-focused environments. The serrated blade supports consistent slicing of bread, produce, and prepared foods throughout service, while the lightweight construction helps reduce operator fatigue. For sandwich stations, bakery production, and catering prep, it provides dependable performance without unnecessary complexity. Its practical design aligns well with the demands of commercial kitchen workflows.

Q: Is the F. Dick ProDynamic Utility Knife Serrated Black 10" a good choice for culinary students?

A: Yes. It provides professional-grade functionality while remaining approachable and practical for skill development. Students can learn proper knife handling techniques while benefiting from the easy-cutting characteristics of a serrated edge. The knife also introduces an important specialty blade type commonly found in professional kitchens. As culinary toolkits expand, it remains a useful long-term addition rather than a temporary training knife.

Q: Is the F. Dick ProDynamic Utility Knife Serrated Black 10" suitable for bakery and café operations?

A: Yes. It is particularly well suited for environments that regularly prepare bread-based products and sandwiches. The serrated edge cuts through crusts cleanly while helping preserve product appearance. This can support faster production, more consistent portions, and improved presentation quality during busy service periods. For bakeries and cafés, it often becomes one of the most frequently used knives in daily operations.
