QUALITY AT A LOWER PRICE
Now working in the kitchen is even more fun! You can choose between a wide range of different knife shapes to suit your cutting tasks. Most of the types from the ProDynamic series are available with different handle colours and ensure compliance with HACCP guidelines.

STEEL QUALITY
The steel X55CrMo14 is the heart of the series. The laser-tested cutting edge guarantees a sharp edge and thus a consistently good cutting performance. This means you cut cleanly and don't crush your food. This preserves valuable ingredients and flavours of your food.

ERGONOMIC HANDLE
The full plastic handle is optimally adapted to your hand. The softer plastic handle gives you a comfortable feeling when cutting and the handle feels light and secure in your hand. The thumb rest optimises the grip when reaching over to weigh and chop. Your knife fits comfortably in your hand so you can work efficiently and accurately.

QUALITY
Each knife is inspected at the end of the production process against F. DICK's high quality standards. The blade spine is rounded, preventing cuts when you need to reach over. The knife falls from the back position and therefore increases work safety in accordance with the standards of the employers' liability insurance association.

KNIFE CARE
All F. DICK knives deserve special care and attention when it comes to maintenance. Proper knife care is crucial. Knives that are forged or have a wooden handle should never be cleaned in the dishwasher. Knives with plastic handles are completely dishwasher safe; however cleaning in a dishwasher is much more aggressive than washing by hand.

The use of highly concentrated detergents, leaving the knives in hot steam for a long time and also the presence of certain food residues can lead to pitting on the blades or even corrosion. We recommend clean the knife by hand with a soft cloth and a mild alkaline detergent. Wipe your knife after cleaning to ensure that tit is thoroughly dry – this will prevent any pitting on the blade. You can occasionally maintain knives with wooden handles with food-safe oils (e.g. olive oil). The oil makes the handle nice and smooth and prevents shrinkage and cracks.

PROFESSIONAL KNIFE STORAGE
For your safety and to protect the cutting edges of the blades, we recommend that you store the knives in a suitable knife block or on a magnetic rail. When buying a knife block, make sure you buy one with enough space and horizontal slots to protect the knife blades. We recommend our own blade guard for storage in a drawer - Edge Guard. or alternatively, dimensionally accurate compartments built into the drawer.

BLADE GUARD FOR KNIVES

KNIFE BLOCK FOR KNIVES
Knife block: Knife block with tourne knife, paring knife, boning knife, carving knife, bread knife, chef's knife, meat fork, sharpening steel and kitchen shears.

HOW DO KNIVES STAY SHARP FOR A LONG TIME?
Knives stay sharp for a long time if they are only used for their intended purpose. The knives should only be used for cutting and not chopping.
Bones or the like should therefore only be cut with a cleaver.

WOODEN OR PLASTIC CUTTING BASES
Hard surfaces such as stone (e.g. marble) or glass should not be used as a base, as they quickly blunt the knives.

FAQ

FAQ

People Also Ask:

Q: What is the F. Dick ProDynamic Carving Knife Black 10" best for?

A: The F. Dick ProDynamic Carving Knife Black 10" is designed for carving, slicing, and portioning cooked meats with clean, precise cuts. Its long, narrow blade helps reduce drag when slicing roasts, brisket, turkey, ham, and other large proteins. The extended blade length allows users to complete each cut in fewer strokes, helping preserve presentation and reduce tearing. For professional kitchens, catering operations, and butcher shops, this knife is particularly useful when consistent portioning and clean slicing are priorities. The laser-tested cutting edge helps maintain cutting performance during repetitive prep tasks.

Q: Who should use the F. Dick ProDynamic Carving Knife Black 10"?

A: This knife is well suited to chefs, culinary students, butchers, catering teams, and serious home cooks who regularly prepare large cuts of meat. The ProDynamic series is positioned as a practical, professional-grade knife range that delivers dependable performance without the higher cost of premium forged collections. This makes it attractive for culinary schools, restaurant kitchens, and operators purchasing multiple knives for a team. Its combination of cutting performance, ergonomic handling, and straightforward maintenance makes it accessible to both experienced and developing users.

Q: Can the F. Dick ProDynamic Carving Knife Black 10" handle brisket, roast beef, and turkey?

A: Yes. The 10" blade length is specifically suited to slicing larger cooked proteins such as brisket, roast beef, turkey, pork loin, and ham. Long slicing strokes help create smoother cuts while reducing pressure on the product. This can improve presentation and help preserve moisture within the sliced protein. For buffet service, catering, and restaurant carving stations, the blade length provides the reach needed for efficient slicing of larger portions.

Q: Is the F. Dick ProDynamic Carving Knife Black 10" suitable for beginners or professionals?

A: It is suitable for both. Professional users benefit from its ergonomic design, dependable edge geometry, and efficient performance during repetitive prep. Beginners and culinary students benefit from the lightweight construction and comfortable grip, which can help improve control during slicing tasks. The knife is designed as a practical working tool rather than a specialty collector's knife, making it appropriate across skill levels.

Q: Can this carving knife be used for raw meat preparation?

A: Yes, although its primary purpose is slicing and carving. The blade geometry works well for portioning larger raw cuts of beef, pork, and poultry before cooking. However, for tasks such as deboning or trimming around joints, a boning knife would typically provide greater maneuverability. Many professional kitchens use a carving knife alongside boning and chef's knives as part of a complete protein-preparation workflow.

Q: How sharp is the F. Dick ProDynamic Carving Knife Black 10"?

A: The knife features a laser-tested cutting edge designed to deliver consistent sharpness and clean cutting performance. A sharp carving knife helps separate fibres cleanly rather than crushing or tearing them. This is particularly important when slicing cooked proteins where presentation and moisture retention matter. The blade steel is engineered for professional foodservice use and is designed for straightforward resharpening when maintenance is required.

Q: What blade steel is used in the F. Dick ProDynamic Carving Knife Black 10"?

A: The knife uses German stainless steel from the X55CrMo14/X50CrMoV15 family used throughout the ProDynamic series. This steel is selected to balance edge retention, corrosion resistance, toughness, and ease of maintenance. It is commonly used in professional kitchen environments where knives are sharpened regularly and used throughout long service periods. The result is a blade that prioritizes dependable daily performance rather than extreme hardness.

Q: What results should users expect from the F. Dick ProDynamic Carving Knife Black 10"?

A: Users should expect clean slices, efficient portioning, and reliable control when carving cooked meats. The blade length supports long, smooth cuts that help maintain the appearance of proteins. Combined with the ergonomic handle, the knife is designed to reduce effort during repetitive slicing tasks. For foodservice operators, this translates into more consistent presentation and a smoother workflow during prep and service.

Q: Is the F. Dick ProDynamic Carving Knife Black 10" comfortable during long prep sessions?

A: Yes. The ProDynamic handle is designed with ergonomics as a priority. The soft plastic handle provides a secure grip and includes a thumb rest that helps improve control during slicing. The handle shape is designed to fit comfortably in the hand while reducing fatigue during extended use. This can be particularly valuable in high-volume kitchens where carving and portioning are performed throughout the day.

Q: How lightweight is the F. Dick ProDynamic Carving Knife Black 10"?

A: The knife is designed to be lightweight relative to its blade length. A lighter carving knife can improve maneuverability and reduce hand fatigue during repetitive slicing tasks. This is especially useful for catering operations, banquet kitchens, and butcher counters where large quantities of product are processed. The balance between blade length and handle weight helps support precise control.

Q: Is the handle slip-resistant?

A: The handle is designed to provide a secure grip in professional kitchen environments. Its ergonomic shape and textured soft-plastic construction help users maintain control during slicing tasks. Proper foodservice knife handling practices should still be followed, particularly when working with wet hands or high-fat proteins. The design focuses on comfort, stability, and operational safety.

Q: Is the F. Dick ProDynamic Carving Knife Black 10" easy to maintain?

A: Yes. The stainless-steel blade is designed for straightforward maintenance and resharpening. Regular hand washing, drying immediately after use, and routine honing with a sharpening steel can help maintain cutting performance. Like most professional kitchen knives, dishwasher cleaning is not recommended. With proper care, the knife is designed to provide dependable long-term service.

Q: Does the F. Dick ProDynamic Carving Knife Black 10" resist corrosion?

A: Yes. The stainless-steel blade is designed to offer good resistance to corrosion in commercial kitchen environments. Routine cleaning and drying remain important, particularly when working with acidic ingredients or high-moisture food preparation environments. Proper knife care helps maximize both performance and longevity.

Q: What is included with the F. Dick ProDynamic Carving Knife Black 10"?

A: The product includes the 10" ProDynamic carving knife with a black ergonomic handle. The knife is supplied ready for professional kitchen use and arrives with the factory-finished cutting edge. Additional storage, sharpening, or protective accessories are typically purchased separately depending on the user's workflow requirements.

Q: Are there other sizes available in the F. Dick ProDynamic carving knife range?

A: Yes. The ProDynamic carving knife range includes multiple blade lengths, including shorter carving knives for users who prefer a more compact format. The 10" model is generally selected when maximum slicing length and efficiency are priorities, particularly for larger proteins and banquet service applications.

Q: How does the F. Dick ProDynamic Carving Knife Black 10" compare to forged carving knives such as the Premier Plus series?

A: The ProDynamic focuses on practical performance, affordability, and everyday usability. Premier Plus knives use forged construction and are positioned higher within the F. Dick lineup. They generally appeal to users seeking a heavier feel and premium forged characteristics. For many professional kitchens, the ProDynamic offers an efficient balance of cutting performance, comfort, and value, especially when equipping multiple workstations.

Q: How does the F. Dick ProDynamic Carving Knife Black 10" compare to a chef's knife for slicing meat?

A: A carving knife and a chef's knife serve different purposes. A chef's knife is designed as an all-purpose tool, while a carving knife is optimized specifically for long, clean slicing motions. The narrower blade and longer profile of the carving knife help reduce drag and improve presentation when portioning cooked proteins. Many professional kitchens use both knives because they excel at different tasks.

Q: Is the F. Dick ProDynamic Carving Knife Black 10" a practical choice for building a professional knife kit?

A: Yes. It offers professional-grade functionality in a practical, accessible format. Users building a knife kit often need tools that can withstand daily use while remaining straightforward to maintain. The ergonomic handle, stainless-steel construction, and dependable cutting performance make it well suited to training environments and early professional use. The ProDynamic series is frequently viewed as an entry point into professional-quality German cutlery.

Q: Is the F. Dick ProDynamic Carving Knife Black 10" reliable in high-volume foodservice environments?

A: Yes. The knife is designed for repeated use in professional kitchens where efficiency and consistency matter. Its long blade supports rapid slicing of proteins, while the ergonomic handle helps improve comfort during extended prep sessions. The stainless-steel construction and quality-control standards of the ProDynamic series support dependable day-to-day operation.

Q: Is the F. Dick ProDynamic Carving Knife Black 10" suitable for protein-focused prep and portioning?

A: Yes. The knife is well suited to slicing, carving, and portioning larger cuts of meat in professional environments. Its blade length allows efficient processing of roasts, smoked meats, and cooked proteins, while the ergonomic handle supports control during repetitive tasks. For protein-focused operations, it serves as a useful complement to boning, breaking, and trimming knives.
