QUALITY AT A LOWER PRICE
Now working in the kitchen is even more fun! You can choose between a wide range of different knife shapes to suit your cutting tasks. Most of the types from the ProDynamic series are available with different handle colours and ensure compliance with HACCP guidelines.

STEEL QUALITY
The steel X55CrMo14 is the heart of the series. The laser-tested cutting edge guarantees a sharp edge and thus a consistently good cutting performance. This means you cut cleanly and don't crush your food. This preserves valuable ingredients and flavours of your food.

ERGONOMIC HANDLE
The full plastic handle is optimally adapted to your hand. The softer plastic handle gives you a comfortable feeling when cutting and the handle feels light and secure in your hand. The thumb rest optimises the grip when reaching over to weigh and chop. Your knife fits comfortably in your hand so you can work efficiently and accurately.

QUALITY
Each knife is inspected at the end of the production process against F. DICK's high quality standards. The blade spine is rounded, preventing cuts when you need to reach over. The knife falls from the back position and therefore increases work safety in accordance with the standards of the employers' liability insurance association.

KNIFE CARE
All F. DICK knives deserve special care and attention when it comes to maintenance. Proper knife care is crucial. Knives that are forged or have a wooden handle should never be cleaned in the dishwasher. Knives with plastic handles are completely dishwasher safe; however cleaning in a dishwasher is much more aggressive than washing by hand.

The use of highly concentrated detergents, leaving the knives in hot steam for a long time and also the presence of certain food residues can lead to pitting on the blades or even corrosion. We recommend clean the knife by hand with a soft cloth and a mild alkaline detergent. Wipe your knife after cleaning to ensure that tit is thoroughly dry – this will prevent any pitting on the blade. You can occasionally maintain knives with wooden handles with food-safe oils (e.g. olive oil). The oil makes the handle nice and smooth and prevents shrinkage and cracks.

PROFESSIONAL KNIFE STORAGE
For your safety and to protect the cutting edges of the blades, we recommend that you store the knives in a suitable knife block or on a magnetic rail. When buying a knife block, make sure you buy one with enough space and horizontal slots to protect the knife blades. We recommend our own blade guard for storage in a drawer - Edge Guard. or alternatively, dimensionally accurate compartments built into the drawer.

BLADE GUARD FOR KNIVES

KNIFE BLOCK FOR KNIVES
Knife block: Knife block with tourne knife, paring knife, boning knife, carving knife, bread knife, chef's knife, meat fork, sharpening steel and kitchen shears.

HOW DO KNIVES STAY SHARP FOR A LONG TIME?
Knives stay sharp for a long time if they are only used for their intended purpose. The knives should only be used for cutting and not chopping.
Bones or the like should therefore only be cut with a cleaver.

WOODEN OR PLASTIC CUTTING BASES
Hard surfaces such as stone (e.g. marble) or glass should not be used as a base, as they quickly blunt the knives.

People Also Ask:

Q: What is the F.DICK ProDynamic Kitchen Knife Black 3" best for?

A: The F.DICK ProDynamic Kitchen Knife Black 3" is best for small, precise cutting tasks such as trimming vegetables, slicing fruit, preparing garnishes, and performing detailed prep work. Its compact blade provides excellent control when working on smaller ingredients or when precision matters more than cutting volume. Many kitchens use this type of knife as a daily utility tool for quick prep tasks that would feel cumbersome with a larger chef knife. The ProDynamic series combines German steel, laser-tested sharpness, and an ergonomic handle, making it a practical choice for fast-paced food preparation.

Q: Who should use the F.DICK ProDynamic Kitchen Knife Black 3"?

A: This knife is well suited to culinary students, professional chefs, foodservice teams, and serious home cooks who need a reliable knife for detailed prep work. For culinary students, it provides an accessible entry into professional-grade cutlery. For commercial kitchens, it serves as a dependable utility knife that can be used throughout the day. Its combination of sharpness, comfort, and straightforward design makes it suitable for users who value function and efficiency over decorative features.

Q: Why would a chef choose a 3-inch kitchen knife instead of a larger knife?

A: A 3-inch kitchen knife offers greater control when working with small ingredients and intricate cuts. Tasks such as trimming strawberries, hulling tomatoes, segmenting citrus, removing blemishes from produce, or preparing garnishes often require a smaller blade. The shorter profile allows precise movements while reducing fatigue during repetitive detail work. Most professional kitchens use a combination of large and small knives, with a compact kitchen knife filling the precision-prep role.

Q: Can the F.DICK ProDynamic Kitchen Knife Black 3" handle daily food preparation?

A: Yes. The knife is designed for repeated daily use in professional and commercial food preparation environments. The blade steel is engineered to provide dependable edge performance, while the ergonomic handle supports comfort during extended prep sessions. This makes it suitable for restaurants, cafeterias, catering operations, and culinary training environments. Its compact size is particularly useful for stations where precision work is performed throughout the day.

Q: Is the F.DICK ProDynamic Kitchen Knife Black 3" suitable for beginners or professionals?

A: It is suitable for both beginners and professionals. New users benefit from the manageable blade length and comfortable grip. Experienced culinary professionals appreciate its control and efficiency for detail-oriented prep work. This broad usability is one reason the ProDynamic series is frequently selected by culinary schools and commercial kitchens seeking practical, professional tools.

Q: Can this knife be used for fruit and vegetable preparation?

A: Yes. It is particularly effective for fruits, vegetables, herbs, and other small ingredients. The compact blade allows accurate cuts while minimizing waste. Tasks such as trimming, peeling, shaping, and decorative preparation can often be completed more efficiently with a smaller knife than with a larger chef knife. Its sharp edge helps produce clean cuts rather than crushing delicate ingredients.

Q: How sharp is the F.DICK ProDynamic Kitchen Knife Black 3"?

A: The knife features a laser-tested cutting edge designed to deliver consistent sharpness and clean cutting performance. A sharp edge helps preserve ingredient quality because food is sliced cleanly rather than crushed. This can improve presentation and reduce unnecessary damage to delicate produce. The ProDynamic series was developed around efficient cutting performance for everyday professional use.

Q: What steel is used in the F.DICK ProDynamic series?

A: The ProDynamic series is built around high-quality German knife steel designed for professional food preparation. The steel provides a practical balance of sharpness, durability, edge retention, and ease of maintenance. This combination is particularly valuable in commercial kitchens where knives are used frequently and require regular sharpening. The series is designed to deliver dependable performance without unnecessary complexity.

Q: What results should users expect from the F.DICK ProDynamic Kitchen Knife Black 3"?

A: Users should expect clean cuts, good control, comfortable handling, and dependable daily performance. The knife is designed to support accurate prep work while maintaining comfort during repetitive tasks. Its compact size makes detailed cutting easier and more efficient. For most users, the result is improved precision and greater confidence when working with small ingredients.

Q: How comfortable is the ProDynamic handle during extended use?

A: The ProDynamic handle is designed to provide a secure and comfortable grip throughout long prep sessions. The full plastic handle is shaped to fit naturally in the hand, while the textured, ergonomic design helps improve control. The integrated thumb support further enhances handling during precise cutting motions. This ergonomic focus helps reduce fatigue during repetitive kitchen work.

Q: Is the F.DICK ProDynamic Kitchen Knife Black 3" easy to maintain?

Regular honing and occasional sharpening will help maintain optimal cutting performance. As with all professional knives, dishwasher cleaning is not recommended.

Q: Is the F.DICK ProDynamic Kitchen Knife Black 3" durable enough for commercial kitchens?

A: Yes. The knife is designed as a professional workhorse for demanding foodservice environments. Its blade steel, ergonomic handle construction, and practical design focus on reliability and repeatable performance. This makes it suitable for restaurants, institutional kitchens, catering operations, and culinary schools. The ProDynamic series is widely positioned as a value-oriented professional solution rather than a consumer-focused knife.

Q: Does the F.DICK ProDynamic Kitchen Knife Black 3" work well alongside larger chef knives?

A: Yes. It complements larger chef knives exceptionally well. Most professional knife kits include both larger primary knives and smaller precision knives. While a chef knife handles bulk prep, a 3-inch kitchen knife is ideal for detail work and finishing tasks. Using the appropriate knife for each task often improves efficiency and cutting accuracy.

Q: Can this knife be maintained with F.DICK sharpening tools?

A: Yes. It can be maintained using appropriate honing steels and sharpening systems designed for professional knives. F.DICK is recognized not only for knives but also for sharpening solutions, allowing users to maintain a consistent edge throughout the life of the knife. Regular maintenance helps preserve cutting performance and prolong service life.

Q: What distinguishes the ProDynamic series from other F.DICK knife series?

A: The ProDynamic series focuses on practical professional performance, ergonomic handling, and value. Compared with premium forged collections, ProDynamic emphasizes affordability and functionality while still delivering professional-grade cutting performance. This makes it especially attractive for culinary schools, foodservice operators, and kitchens purchasing multiple knives. It is often considered the entry point into the F.DICK professional knife range.

Q: Is the F.DICK ProDynamic Kitchen Knife Black 3" a good choice for culinary students?

A: Yes. It is one of the most practical knife styles for culinary students. Students frequently perform detailed knife work while developing foundational cutting skills. The compact blade encourages precision and control, while the ProDynamic series provides professional-level quality at an accessible investment level. It can remain useful long after formal training is complete.

Q: How does the F.DICK ProDynamic Kitchen Knife Black 3" compare to a paring knife?

A: Both are compact knives, but a kitchen knife generally offers slightly more versatility for light slicing and utility work. A paring knife is often optimized for peeling and highly detailed hand-held cutting. A small kitchen knife provides additional blade length and can handle a broader range of prep tasks on a cutting board. For many users, the kitchen knife becomes an everyday utility tool between a paring knife and a larger chef knife.

Q: How does the F.DICK ProDynamic Kitchen Knife Black 3" compare to premium forged F.DICK series knives?

A: The primary difference is positioning rather than intended use. Premium forged series typically offer enhanced construction methods, more refined aesthetics, and a different balance profile. The ProDynamic series prioritizes practicality, efficiency, and value while maintaining professional performance standards. For many kitchens, ProDynamic delivers the functionality required for daily prep without the higher investment associated with premium collections.

Q: Is the F.DICK ProDynamic Kitchen Knife Black 3" reliable during high-volume prep?

A: Yes. The knife is designed for consistent daily performance in professional foodservice environments. Its compact blade supports fast precision work, while the ergonomic handle helps maintain control during extended prep periods. For chefs handling repetitive garnish, vegetable, or finishing tasks, it serves as a dependable station knife.

Q: Is the F.DICK ProDynamic Kitchen Knife Black 3" a good training knife?

A: Yes. Its compact size promotes control, accuracy, and proper knife handling techniques. Students can develop precision cutting skills while using a knife built to professional standards. The straightforward design also makes maintenance and sharpening easier to learn.
