Cleaning & Maintenance

> The base board can withstand all common detergents.
> The base board, including steel legs | rubber feet | click system, can be cleaned in a dishwasher or under the tap. The base board can also withstand scalding with boiling water.
> The base board will become scratched if it is used as a carving board for hot roasts and other foods. Depending on the foods for which it is used, the area of the base board used for cutting may become discoloured through time.
> The base board will expand when subjected to heat, for example in a dishwasher. It will, however, retract to its original size when cooled. Note that the base board and cutting sheets will only fit together properly if they are at the same temperature.
> Never place hot pots or pans directly on the base board.

FAQ

FAQ

People Also Ask:

Q: Why choose the black base over the white?

A: Appearance. A black board looks finished rather than functional, which matters if it goes to the table or sits out on a countertop you can see.

Q: Is there any difference besides the color?

A: No. Same size, same materials, same juice groove, same gripper edge, same three sheets. The choice is purely how you want it to look.

Q: Does black hide marks better?

A: It hides everyday marking on the base more than white does. It makes no difference to the sheets, since those are the surface you actually cut on.

Q: Does the black base mean anything in the color system?

A: No, and this catches people out. A black SHEET means serving. A black BASE is just a finish. The sheet is what carries the food code, never the base.

Q: Can I serve from it?

A: That is exactly where it works well. Fit the black sheet, which is the serving color, and the whole thing goes to the table as a board.

Q: Is 30 x 50cm right for serving?

A: It gives you room for a proper spread of cheese, charcuterie or bread without being unwieldy to carry. The 24 x 34 is the smaller option if you want something more compact.

Q: Does it still work as a normal cutting board?

A: Completely. It is the same board as the white one, so it does your everyday prep and then cleans up to go on the table.

Q: What sheets does it come with?

A: Green, red and black: vegetables, raw meat and serving. The other four colors are available separately in the matching size.

Q: How do I keep it looking good?

A: Wash it properly, do not carve directly on the base, and never put a hot pan on it. The sheets are there to take the damage so the base does not have to.

Q: Anything to know about washing the black base?

A: Nothing specific to the color. As with any Profboard, let the base and the sheet reach the same temperature before you click them back together, because the base expands a little in the heat.
